Did you save that digital image you made of your kid playing the spoons? Did you back it up? Did you migrate it?

It's fun and quick and cheap to shoot digital images.  Just be sure to back them up. Nothing digital really lasts a lifetime unless you are relentless and conscientious about backing the files up.  Of course you could always shoot a roll of black and white film.  Research generally shows that, well processed and stored, black and white silver based film will still be printable long after you are cold and dead. 

Of course, you can always have archival prints made from your digital files.  That works too.
